Roundtable 1: MSP Leadership - skills and training

The SKILLS + TRAINING session will focus on how Channel companies need to develop a flexible, hybrid business model, to take advantage of both their ‘traditional’, ongoing hardware and software sales, as well as optimise the many cloud and managed services opportunities. Channel employees need to learn new skills in order to thrive in this new world. Meanwhile, Channel customers, increasingly challenged to find the right quantities and levels of skilled employees as they develop their digital transformation strategies, are looking for expert partners who can provide the necessary technical expertise and resources. Technology skills and training have never been more important!

3 MSP Leadership Secrets that you NEED to know

In this keynote, Ian Luckett, MSP Business Coach and Leadership Expert, will share with you the 3 key pillars to MSP Leadership Success. You will learn why, in many ways developing your own Leadership Skills and that of your team can help you seriously increase the profitability, team efficiency and scalability of your business. If you have ever wondered what the secret ingredient is to breaking the £1.0m t/o barrier and beyond is, then look no further than inside your team.

With 96% of MSPs failing to exceed seven figures Stuart’s mission is to help MSP’s scale confidently and build a business that works for them rather than them for it - giving them more time, profit and freedom. As a non-techie he brings a focus to scaling that most technical owners struggle to embrace giving them the confidence to tap into their true potential and that of their business.

Roundtable 2: Increasing Sales - Delivering the Digital Transformation that your customers demand

End users embarked on their digital transformation journeys are all focused on some common objectives: speed to market, scalability, flexibility, agility. The best way for the Channel to help? By embracing these same objectives within their own organisations. By ensuring that your Channel business is not a technology bottleneck, but a business enabler, you’ll enjoy sales success as you partner with your customers to help them optimise their (likely hybrid) IT environments.

Roundtable 3: Building Business Efficiency, Improving Business Performance/Profitability - Solution Selection - optimising your portfolio

SIMPLIFYING THE SOLUTION STACK – time and time again Channel surveys (including our own) reveal an apparent contradiction: Companies are fed up with the increasingly large and unwieldy technology portfolios they have developed in order to meet customers’ expectations; but they are also very much wanting to add innovative solutions, many of them based on new and emerging technologies, such as 5G, IoT and the edge, artificial intelligence, data analytics and high performance computing. This session will help Channel organisations to understand how to develop and optimised solution stack – how to rationalise their existing solution offerings as well as how to evaluate new opportunities. The temptation is to try and be all things to all customers. In reality, knowing what you don’t or can’t provide to customers is as important as knowing where your strengths and expertise lies!

EVERYTHING IS POSSIBLE – HOW TO INCREASE BUSINESS PERFORMANCE, PRODUCTIVITY AND PROFIT IN YOUR CHANNEL BUSINESS. – FROM THE HORSES MOUTH!

Presented by Daniel Welling - moderator
Director Welling MSP

Daniel started his career in IT in 1995, following a sales track, working for VARs and quickly developing a consultative approach to new business and account management, leading to Sales Management within a few years.

The urge to do more resulted in forming an IT support business (what today we call an MSP) in 2002 which developed over the following 12-years with the obligatory highs, lows and lessons learned. In 2014 the opportunity arose to exit the business in a trade sale, allowing Daniel to pursue his non-IT interests, which have included further highs, lows and lessons in the fields of motorsport and soft drinks, whilst remaining involved with the MSP market through being an active member of MSP communities, taking a part time role with the acquirer of his business and growing a base of other MSPs with whom he has worked as a mentor, recruiter, M&A deal maker and advisor.

More recent commercial interests include co-founding The MSP Finance Team, delivering MSP-tailored bookkeeping and accounting services.

In 2020 Daniel was elected to the CompTIA Executive Council for the UK Business Technology Community whilst also coordinating the London SBSC (now Tech Tribe) MSP regular meet ups.

Roundtable 4: Security Partners - choosing the right security partner

SELECTING THE RIGHT SECURITY PARTNERS is one of the major challenges facing both the Channel and their customers. There are 1000s of cybersecurity vendors, offering a whole range of solutions – none of which, in isolation, offer true end-to-end security. So, Channel companies need to understand what technology components are an essential part of any robust, comprehensive security offering which will meet their customers’ expectations. And the stakes couldn’t be higher. Hardly a day goes by without a news story focusing on a high profile ransomware and/or an organisation which has fallen foul of compliance legislation. And, of course, the security landscape doesn’t stand still, so developing and maintaining an optimised security offering is an ongoing process. However, succeed with security and the rewards are plentiful – customers are looking for trusted security partners!

How MSPs can become the trusted security partner

We explore how todays MSPs can offer the services that customers will need in the next 5 years from Cybersecurity to compliance and more.
